The Family of EOD Equipment (FEODE) is comprised of over forty TAMCNs providing the required tools and capabilities to detect, locate, access, identify, triage, diagnose, stabilize, render safe, neutralize, recover, exploit, and dispose of unexploded explosive ordnance (UXO), improvised explosive devices (IED), and weapons of mass destruction (WMD).
Marine Corps EOD capabilities align to the Marine Corps Operating Concept, Littoral Operations in a Contested Environment, and Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations by providing specialized diagnostic equipment, modernized robotics and energetically actuated tools, which enable EOD to provide the MAGTF, Marine Special Operations Forces, and Supporting Establishments with critical protection and maneuver enabling capabilities that deliver responsive, scalable, strategic depth for special operations, crisis response, and littoral access during future conflicts. The EOD capability ensures lethal effects mitigation in all domains, during all Major Combat Operation phases, manually or remotely, regardless of failed or defeated technological systems.
Approved capability enhancements and new initiatives consist of currently available government and commercial-off-the-shelf systems along with the utilization of Innovative Manufacturing and rapid prototyping. Procurement of EOD equipment to best combat the evolving threat continues through FY18/ FY19.
